Tyler loves Yakima and has always considered himself quite fortunate to grow up in this beautiful valley.  Tyler only has a few hobbies, but is very obsessive about each of them.  His number one hobby is spending time with his kids (ages 11, 9, 9 and 7) and after that comes tennis, golf, guitar and skiing.  Tyler played tennis for Whitworth University and still competes in PNW tournaments when there is enough time.  And to keep from getting injured, Tyler is obsessed with yoga, stretching, foam rolling, and anything that helps him stay bouncy on the tennis court.  In recent years Tyler also became hooked on healthy eating and loves pretending to be good at cooking by just mixing everything together.

Tyler attended West Valley schools and graduated in 2000 with a deep desire to become a school teacher.  This desire led him to Whitworth University because of their strong reputation for preparing teachers who wanted to make a difference in the lives of their students and in the well-being of their communities.  After graduating in 2004 from Whitworth with honors, Tyler taught 4th Grade in the East Valley School District and planned to do this for the next 40 years.  However, in 2006 he was offered the position of Youth Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Yakima and decided this would enable him to have even more of an impact on young people and the larger Yakima community.  For the next 11 years Tyler served in a number of roles: youth pastor, then as an associate pastor, and finally as the preaching pastor at First Pres (now Grace of Christ Pres).  During this time Tyler was able to earn another degree from Whitworth (this time a Masters in Theology).  After leaving fulltime ministry Tyler then became one of the tennis professionals at the Yakima Tennis Club.  Tyler's main focus in the tennis world was working with kids but he also enjoyed coaching adults to help them achieve their health and fitness goals.  All of these experiences reinforced Tyler's love for Yakima and his desire to see this valley continue to thrive.

Tyler loves helping people and is a naturally curious question-asker.  Tyler also enjoys taking complex problems and helping people see them from new angles in order to bring about new clarity and a new way to see opportunity in this midst of struggle.  In his professional life these skills have allowed Tyler to be an excellent teacher, a trusted counselor and an inspiring coach. Tyler is committed to making your home buying or home selling process as enjoyable and as efficient as possible.  Tyler is so grateful for the team at John L.
